Working Principle of the Sawdust Drum Dryer
Material enters the dryer and is lifted by internal fins as the drum rotates. When it reaches a certain height, it rolls back down, passing through the hot gas stream. This gas can flow in two directions: co-current (from the feed to the discharge) or counter-current (from the discharge to the feed). The gas may be a mixture of air and combustion gases (direct heating), or preheated air (indirect heating), depending on the application. Indirect dryers are often preferred when contamination is a concern.
