Congratulations to Chief Kevin Doyle and the entire team at the Palos Heights Fire District in Palos Heights, Illinois, on the recent arrival of their brand-new 2018 Wheeled Coach Type III ambulance! This custom Type III unit is built on a Ford E450, 6.8L gas cutaway chassis, and it meets all Change Notice 10 compliance standards. Packed with cutting-edge features, this ambulance includes the impressive COOLBAR HVAC system, Whelen M9 LED lighting, and a fully LED-lit interior. The vehicle also boasts 3-inch dropped skirts on both sides, providing extra clearance while maintaining a sleek profile. With an impressive 72-inch interior headroom, the ambulance offers plenty of space for emergency responders to move around comfortably.
Other notable features include electric locks, a Vanner inverter, a Federal PA4000 siren, and a state-of-the-art VMUX electrical system with Vista IV touch screens. The ambulance also comes equipped with recessed Zico QR-D-2 strapless O2 bottle brackets and a custom right-front cabinet with a full-height roll-up door. These details not only enhance functionality but also improve efficiency during critical operations.
