Recently, Alfa Laval announced the signing of two framework agreements for providing more than 50 PureBallast ballast water management systems for three years.

It is reported that the order includes 45 ballast water management systems for a tanker management company in the Middle East and 8 ballast water management systems for a European bulk carrier management company. The two ship management companies will arrange each order according to the scheduled ship docking plan. Alfa Laval will deliver the first ballast water management system by the end of 2017.
Since the Ballast Water Management Convention will enter into force on September 8 this year, the signing of these framework agreements shows a clear sign that the ballast water treatment system market is moving forward. These two framework agreements include several high-capacity ballast water management systems. The first order includes 22 ballast water management systems with a capacity of 2,000 m3/h or 3,000 m3/h, while the second order includes 4 ballast water management systems with a capacity of 1,500 m3/h and 4 units.
