Thread milling cutter for machining leak-free tubing threads

In order to solve the problem of leaking pipe joints used in the oil and gas industry with conventional machine taps or other threading methods, Emuge has designed a new solid carbide thread milling cutter and indexable insert thread milling cutter. Among them, the thread milling cutter with spiral groove can be used to process NPT/API thread with diameter of 0.125′′~2′′ (3~50mm); the indexable insert thread milling cutter with incomplete profile can be used for processing diameter 1′′~20′′ NPT/API thread (25 to 500 mm). These new thread milling cutters extend the range of processing for Emuge's Thread-Max and Threads-All series of threaded tools.

The ground solid carbide thread milling cutter uses a fine grained carbide grade and TiCN coating to improve tool life, and the multi-spiral groove design eliminates machining chatter. The milling cutter design combines large tool diameters with precise thread profile correction to ensure threading accuracy and expand the milling section to produce the large thread length required for API pipe threads.

The indexable insert thread milling cutter for machining taper threads is made of hardened steel body, the type of tool holder is a CNC ground Weldon holder or an integral CAT50 holder with three rod sizes. The milling cutter uses internal cooling and the coolant is sprayed radially from the cutting edge of the insert to optimize cooling and chip removal and improve thread quality and tool life. The ground blade is made of fine-grained carbide and can be coated with TiN or TiAlN. The front and rear corners of the insert are designed to withstand large chip loads per tooth; the blade shape is designed for free cutting, reducing radial cutting pressure and ensuring threading accuracy. Each blade has 4 available cutting edges for extended blade life. The high precision tool holder precisely machined on the steel end face of the body ensures precise positioning of the insert.

Most car, truck, and SUV owners understand the importance of having good windshield wipers on their vehicles at all times. However, many of them may not know that the windshield wiper blades and arms are moved back and forth by the Windshield Wiper Linkage. The linkage is attached to the Wiper Motor, which is typically hidden under the hood of the vehicle and protected from the elements. The Wiper Linkage may fail  because it is not always protected from the sun, snow, wind, and rain and may be susceptible to wear and tear or breaking entirely without warning.

The windshield wiper linkage is designed to last the life the vehicle, but like any other mechanical part it can break when you least expect it to occur. One of the most common causes of premature wear and tear is overuse in wet weather climates or in cold areas where the windshield wipers are frozen and may stick to the windshield. This causes the linkage to strip from the Wiper Arm , requiring them to be replaced.

There are a few warning signs that will indicate that a problem with the windshield wiper linkage is beginning to wear out that if noticed early and fixed, can reduce additional parts breakage including the wiper motor.
