Do not assume that the duplex pump, triple pump or through-shaft drive pump assembly can be synchronously loaded to the rated pressure, and the shaft load must be checked to avoid excess torque. The concentricity and angle of shaft alignment are important for the life of the pump. Misalignment can cause heavy loads on the bearings and cause permanent failure. Flexible couplings must be aligned to the requirements of the coupling manufacturer. Universal joint mount auxiliary gear When using double universal joint couplings, the shaft must be parallel and the yoke must be in a straight line with a minimum deviation. Of course, large deviations are allowed to vary with the conditions of use. The radial fit of the pump shaft to the gimbal shall be tight (large fit) with no looseness. Due to the gap superposition, the possibility of interference between the shaft and the transmission spline occurs. In order to reduce this possibility, side spline mating should be used. Side-tooth fit and short-engagement length ratios are greater flexibility and less lateral load tendencies than mating splines or long-spline engagements. As a general rule, short spline engagement should be no less than 85% spline to ensure large shaft torque ratings. Spline shafts are recommended when the pump shaft is directly connected to the gearbox or reducer. Spline gears should be lubricated. The concentricity of the inner diameter of the customer's inner port relative to the effective axis of the inner drive must be within 0.10 mm (0.004 in) of the total dial indicator reading, and the clearance between the inner and outer ports must be +0.01 to +0.05 mm (+0.0005 to + 0.0020 in). The perpendicularity of the customer mounting surface of the fixed pump or motor to the internal drive axis must be within 0.0381 mm/mm (0.0015 in/in). The size of the keyed hole must be between +0.003 and +0.03 mm (+0.0001 and +0.0010 in) of the large shaft diameter shown on pages 63 and 64.

Working principle
