One, background

According to relevant data, at present, China's domestic building energy consumption has accounted for more than 29 % of the total energy consumption of the whole society , and the proportion of building energy consumption in the future will rise to about 35 %. Among them, colleges and universities are integrated population groups with high population density integrating teaching, research, and life. With the continuous expansion of university scale, the construction area of the campus has been greatly increased compared with the past. Incomplete statistics, there are nearly 3,000 colleges and universities in China , and colleges and universities have gradually become important energy consumers. It is imperative to realize the energy saving of university buildings and build a green and conservation-oriented campus.

This paper takes Northeast Agricultural University as an example to discuss the application of campus energy consumption monitoring system.

Second, the status quo of campus energy consumption supervision and the importance of establishing energy monitoring system

1 . Energy Consumption Distribution of University Buildings . At present, the majority of universities and colleges in China use electricity, water, and gas for manual management. There are many defects in manual meter reading . Such as data accuracy is not high, real-time performance is poor, poor continuity and so on. The hydropower management department is unable to control the hydropower data and the changes in energy consumption in all regions of the university in real time, making it impossible to make feasible adjustments in time and formulating corresponding management systems.

There are many architectural types and functional division areas in higher education institutions. It is mainly composed of the following regions. A variety of energy consumptions coexist in each region. The consumption of electricity and water energy is distributed in each region. The gas distribution region is relatively single and dominated by living areas.

2 . Energy monitoring problems. According to the results of research and field survey the situation and each campus energy systems of Northeast Agricultural University analyzed, to optimize energy consumption monitoring requires the following three aspects.

(1) Coverage of metering points is not comprehensive :

The metering of electricity used by Northeast Agricultural University covers only the transformer room and the total entrance of the building, and there is no measurement of electricity consumption. For water measurement, the total water intake pipe is measured according to the municipal water intake. Only a small part of the secondary water metering point has a water meter, which cannot reflect the energy consumption of the entire school. Need to gradually improve the measurement points to help schools objectively and accurately grasp the status of their own energy resources and consumption, to achieve the first step of fine management, while providing basic data for the development of effective energy-saving measures.

(2) The lack of real-time monitoring of energy use systems :

The power distribution room is the power center in the campus. At present, only the meter is used to achieve electricity metering. The operating equipment still depends on manual inspection. It is far from meeting the requirements for safe operation. When there are operational failures, equipment aging, etc. At this time, fault isolation cannot be performed in time so that the scope of power outage will not be expanded. There is no monitoring and protection of the power quality of important energy-consuming departments such as laboratories. The need to establish real-time monitoring to ensure the safe operation of energy-using systems. At the same time, the heating system of the northern colleges and universities also needs to run the safety monitoring, can increase the intelligent control, through the electric control valve opening and closing to control the heat, reasonable energy.

(3) Measurement statistics rely on labor :

The school’s various types of energy consumption statistics rely on labor, and the statistical work methods are relatively simple.   The accuracy of data is affected by human factors, and a large number of paper reports are not easy to save and transfer. It is necessary to enrich the methods of data analysis and improve the accuracy and timeliness, while reducing the manual statistical workload.

III. Application of campus energy consumption monitoring system in Northeast Agricultural University

3.1 Project Introduction

Northeast Agricultural University was established in Harbin in 1948. It was called the Northeast Agricultural College. It was the first common higher agricultural university founded by the Communist Party of China in the Liberated Area . Anke Rui Electric Co., Ltd. to undertake the design and construction of energy management systems in the Northeast Agricultural University in September 2009. The remote monitoring of the high-voltage, low-voltage incoming line, capacitance compensation, contact and outlet loops in the power distribution room was realized. Acrel- 5 000 reserved for the energy management system expansion interface, it can be easily expanded.

Acrel- 5 000 energy management system to achieve the campus energy consumption monitoring of Northeast Agricultural University, the field devices are confined within the same distribution room, the owners of the duty room nearby electrical power distribution arrangements in the next room, the system control center also Placed in the duty room. The system network uses a common three- tier structure, namely station management layer, network communication layer, and field device layer.

3.2 network structure shown in Figure 1

Figure 1    Network structure

The field device layer is mainly connected to various types of meters and protection devices used for the collection and measurement of electrical parameters in the network, and it is also a necessary basic element for constructing the distribution system. The project includes M4/M5 medium voltage protection, ACR series network instrumentation, DTSD three-phase terminal meter, remote water meter, gas meter and cold / heat meter to realize on-site equipment monitoring and management.

The network communication layer is composed of a communication server, an interface converter, and a bus network. This layer is a bridge for the exchange of data information.

The station management layer is the manager of the distribution network, and this layer is directly facing the users. This layer is also the uppermost part of the system, which is mainly composed of energy management system software and necessary hardware devices such as computers, printers, and UPS .
