Creating Worker Opportunity in a New Era of Automation: Autodesk Explores Skills Development & the Future of Work

Automation has been reshaping industries long before the pandemic, as companies worldwide sought to address critical skills shortages. The global health crisis only accelerated this shift, pushing organizations to adopt digital tools and automation more rapidly than ever. With remote workforces and new safety protocols becoming the norm, businesses had to rethink how they operated—and many turned to automation to maintain efficiency and productivity. The conversation around automation has always been complex. While some fear it could displace workers, others see it as a chance for growth. The key question remains: does automation eliminate jobs or create new opportunities for workers to upskill, collaborate with machines, and take on more meaningful roles? To explore these issues further, Autodesk is launching a global research initiative focused on the future of work. This program will release several studies this summer, examining automation, skills development, and workforce transformation across various industries and regions. The first report, “The Future of Work is Now: Is APAC Ready?” is now available for download. Autodesk believes that automation can open doors—if we invest in the right training and support systems. That means developing new credentialing programs, forming partnerships between public and private sectors, and creating pathways for workers to adapt and thrive in an evolving landscape. APAC, home to over 60% of the world’s workforce, faces unique challenges. The region includes both highly developed economies and emerging markets, each at different stages of readiness for automation. A joint study by the Autodesk Foundation and Deloitte highlights which industries and countries are most vulnerable and what steps can be taken to prepare for the changes ahead. Construction, mining, manufacturing, and transport are among the sectors most at risk due to their reliance on routine, manual tasks. In contrast, countries like Singapore, Australia, Japan, and South Korea are better positioned to benefit from automation thanks to stronger infrastructure and workforce development programs. However, even the most prepared nations have room to grow. The report emphasizes the importance of proactive measures such as raising awareness about the need for adaptation, supporting industry-specific digital transformation, and investing in learning programs that help workers stay relevant in a fast-changing job market. This initiative covers 12 APAC countries, including Thailand, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Australia. Each country presents its own set of challenges and opportunities, but one common theme emerges: automation offers potential if the right support is in place. In 2019, the Autodesk Foundation partnered with the Monitor Institute by Deloitte to study the future of work in the U.S. Their findings highlighted the importance of closing the skills gap through education, training, and collaboration. As automation continues to reshape the global economy, the lessons learned from past initiatives remain relevant today. By focusing on preparation, innovation, and inclusivity, we can ensure that automation becomes a force for good—empowering workers, driving progress, and building a more resilient future.

PEEK Prodcuts

PEEK is a high temperature resistant thermoplastic, with high glass transition temperature (143℃) and melting point (334℃), load heat deformation temperature up to 316℃ (30% glass fiber or carbon fiber reinforced grade)
PEEK is widely used in petroleum, food processing, automobile, aerospace and other fields with its excellent electrical properties, mechanical properties, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and so on.

PEEK rods

Model and color of PEEK rod:

1, PEEK5600G (brown gray/earth yellow) using pure polyether ether ketone resin as raw material manufacturing, in all PEEK levels of good toughness, good impact resistance. PEEK can be sterilized by convenient disinfection methods (steam, drying heat, ethanol and Y-ray), and the raw materials of PEEK meet the requirements of the European Union and the United States FDA for food suitability. These characteristics make it very popular in the medical, pharmaceutical and food processing industries.

2, PEeK-5600LF30 (black) add PTFE, graphite and carbon fiber results, make

Peek-5600lf30 becomes bearing grade plastic. Its superior friction properties (low friction coefficient, wear resistance, high peak pressure limit) make this grade an ideal material for friction applications.

3, PEEK-5600GF30 (brown gray) the material filled with 30% glass fiber reinforced plastic, has better rigidity and creep resistance than PEEK5600G, as well as better dimensional stability, the manufacturing of structural parts is ideal. It can withstand fixed load for a long time at high temperature. If the PEEK-5600GF30 is used as a sliding part, its adaptability should be carefully checked because the glass fiber scratches the mating surface.

4, PEeK-5600CF30 (black) The material filled with 30% carbon fiber reinforced, has better mechanical properties than PeeK-5600GF30 (higher elastic modulus, mechanical strength and creep) and more wear resistance, And the carbon-fiber reinforced plastic has 3.5 times the thermal conductivity of the unreinforced PEEK plastic and dissipates heat faster from the bearing surface.

Second, PEEK specifications: the following units are mm (mm)

PEEK bar: Diameter 3 ~ 260×1000 (3000 can be customized according to requirements) (if not above specifications, our company can supply product size, length and width specifications can be zero cut)

PEEK board

Three, PEEK specifications: the following units are mm (mm)

PEEK sheet: Extrusion width 1250mm and below the size of sheet (3000 can be customized according to requirements)

PEEK tube
