The Huntley Fire Protection District has officially received their new 103-foot SpartanERV quint. This state-of-the-art apparatus marks a significant upgrade for the department, enhancing their ability to respond to emergencies with greater efficiency and capability.
Delivery photos are available HERE.
Previously, Huntley’s Pierce quint was acquired by the Shavertown Fire Department in Pennsylvania. The former unit, a 2002 Pierce Dash 105 quint equipped with a 2000 gpm pump and a 500-gallon water tank, had served the district well before being sold.
In July 2013, at the recommendation of the truck committee, the fire department unanimously approved the purchase of the used apparatus. This decision came as the department was outgrowing its existing vehicle due to the changing needs of the community and its role as a first-due unit for Back Mt. Regional Fire. The new quint is expected to be put into service in early October, following its arrival in September.
This transition highlights the ongoing commitment of the Huntley Fire Protection District to modernize and improve its emergency response capabilities.
Thanks, Kevin.
