Bayer MaterialScience's polyurethane housing foam provides endless design possibilities and economical processing

The outer casing of these models is manufactured by DuPont Plastics of Hjortshoj, Denmark, using Bayer Material® refractory polyurethane integral shell foam Baydur® 110 FR supplied by BaySystems BÜFA GmbH & Co., Oldenburg, Germany. The material has excellent design freedom and meets all the performance requirements of component manufacturing, especially in such applications, with high efficiency in small and medium batch processing.
DuPont Plastics produces two parts of the Maxxyz, measuring 30 x 100 cm. These parts are made from the same mold and are distributed around the two monitors of the console. The other two parts of the Maxxyz housing, measuring 40 x 26 cm, have holes for most controllers. These parts and the two rails are made of separate molds. Harddy Dupont, executive director of DuPont Plastics, said: "This material must have high performance, because in addition to the controller holes, the parts also have other details such as built-in control balls, metal chassis threads, etc. This requires ultra-high precision."
Another feature of the polyurethane material is its excellent inherent hardness and strength. This is not difficult to see from the thickness of the material of 2 to 3 mm (the size used in the manufacture of Maxxyz parts). In addition, Baydur® 110 FR is black in color and has a high-quality surface that provides an exceptionally pleasing, soft feel to the polyurethane coating of the two lighting control models. These two lighting consoles are the most mature products on the market with their unique features (including 3D visual effects, USB and mobile volume controls) and a professional user interface.
