Installation Guide:
1. Wiring the Pump
Connect a longer cable to the pump (cable size must be at least 1.5mm²). Use the parts included in the cable connector kit (heat-shrink tube and tape) to connect a longer supply wire to the pump. If you don't have a heat gun, the barrel of your soldering iron will work or you can use a butane torch with caution to avoid melting the insulation or causing a fire. Strip the insulation as shown.
A. Lay out the components needed for the connection.
B. Place the larger heat-shrink over the main cable and the smaller ones over the individual wires. Keep the heat-shrink away from the joints while soldering. Any heat transfer could cause premature shrinking.
C. Slide the small heat-shrink over the soldered joints and apply heat using a heat gun or alternative heat source to shrink it tightly around the wires.
D. Wrap the tape over the sealed joints.
E. Finally, slide the large heat-shrink over the completed joint and shrink it into place.
Before wiring the controller box, place the pump in water to allow it to go through the pre-conditioning process. Do not install the pump in its final position until it has been tested, unless it's easy to access and remove.
