Concentrate

The concentrator is an inverted cone, as shown below. The upper center of the body is equipped with a feeding cylinder, which is connected to the feeding pipe in the tangential direction. A radial grid is welded inside the cylinder to prevent the slurry from rotating. The upper part of the body is equipped with an annular overflow trough, and the lower part of the body is connected with a cone bottom. The both sides of the cone bottom are equipped with a grit discharge pipe and a high pressure water pipe. The lower part of the bottom of the cone is provided with a sand discharging valve for sand discharge and drainage during accident or maintenance. The angle of the cone is generally 55° or 60°. When the ore is contained in the mud, the angle is generally 55°. When the cone angle is less than 55°, the height of the body will increase when the settlement area is the same.

The main purposes of the concentrate bucket in beneficiation are: (1) concentrated dewatering of the original pulp before grinding. (2) Concentration and de-sludge of the overflow of the slurry grade tank before the shaker operation. Re-election, flotation, magnetic separation products or coal sludge dewatering. (3) centrifuges, belt chute and other sorting operations prior to dewatering mines. The concentration concentration of the concentration bucket can reach 60-65%.
There are various sizes of concentrate buckets currently used in production. But commonly used are Ñ„2000 and Ñ„3000 mm. Its maximum feed size is 2 to 0 mm. The separation particle size used for deliming is generally 0.074 mm or 0.037 mm.
The concentrating hopper has a simple structure and does not consume power, and can play a role of storing, concentrating and deliming to a certain extent. However, the sedimentation area is small, the mud removal efficiency is low, and the configuration height difference loss is large. It is generally only suitable for the initial dewatering of mineral processing products, and the overflow is sent to the next step and sometimes needs to be dehydrated again.
When the concentrator is used as a dewatering equipment , its area can be calculated as the amount of solids in the ore. When processing 1.5 ~ 0 mm size, the production capacity is 48 ~ 52 tons / (m 2 · day); when processing 0.074 ~ 0 mm size, the production capacity is 4.5 ~ 6 tons / (m 2 · day).
When the concentration hopper is used for deliming, the rising liquid flow velocity Ï… a should be less than the final sedimentation velocity V 0 of the critical particles:

Where W 0 ——— overflow flow, m 3 /s;
A—the required concentration of the bucket, m 2 ;
K———area coefficient, generally 0.65~0.75, and the diameter is small and takes a low value;
υ 0 ———The free settling velocity of the largest particles allowed to be carried away in the overflow, m/s, is measured by the test or approximated by the Stokes formula.
The relationship between the area required by the concentrator and the diameter:

Where D———concentrator diameter, m.
