**Fully Automatic Copper Rod Making Machine for 8mm, 17mm, and 30mm**
This copper rod continuous casting machine is specifically designed to produce high-quality copper rods of various sizes. The production process begins with the copper cathode being placed into the furnace via a lifting system for preheating. The feeding speed is adjusted according to the casting speed, and the copper cathode is then fed into the melting furnace for melting (with argon gas used to prevent oxidation). The molten copper flows into the transition section (still using argon gas to avoid oxidation), then into the holding furnace before finally entering the crystallizer, where the copper rods are formed. After that, the rods go through the casting device, output frame, separation shelf (to separate each rod), tension tower (to control the take-up speed), and finally the take-up machine for coiling and preparation for the next stage.
**Equipment Composition:**
1. **Furnace**
The production line uses a power frequency induction furnace, consisting of the furnace body, frame, and inductor. The outer structure is made of steel, while the inner part is lined with fireclay bricks and quartz sand. The furnace frame supports the entire unit, and the inductor includes a coil, water jacket, iron core, and copper ring. The voltage can be adjusted from 90V to 420V, and the low-voltage side has short-circuit copper rings. When the circuit is activated, a large current is induced in the copper ring, melting the copper inside the furnace. The cooling system circulates water to maintain safe operation.
2. **Copper Melting Channel & Crystallizer**
These components ensure smooth flow of molten copper and help in solidification into rods.
3. **Continuous Casting Machine**
This is the core of the production line, including a drawing mechanism, liquid level control system, and freezing unit. The drawing mechanism consists of an AC servo motor and multiple drawing rollers, capable of rotating between 0–1000 RPM. It can draw up to five copper rods at once. The liquid level control ensures consistent depth of the freezing unit in the molten copper, allowing for uniform cooling and solidification.
4. **Guide Pulley Frame**
Installed above the casting machine, this frame helps guide the copper rods smoothly to the double-head winding machine without any disturbance.
5. **Limiting Device**
Located between the guide pulley frame and the winding machine, this device uses 5 groups of 24V up/down spacing to control the speed of the winding machine based on the movement of the copper rod.
6. **Double-Station Winding Machine**
This machine is equipped with drawing rollers, a rotating chassis, and a spooling take-up unit, allowing it to wind two copper rods simultaneously.
7. **Cooling Water System**
A closed-loop system that provides 0.2–0.4 MPa of cooling water to the freezer, water jacket, and coils. It includes a 150m³ water pool, pump, piping, and cooling tower. The water temperature is maintained between 20–30°C, with a flow rate of 50 m³/h.
8. **Electrical Control System**
The system includes both power supply and control units. It manages the operation of the furnace, main machine, winding machine, and cooling system. Control panels feature start/stop buttons, adjustable switches, and meters to monitor power, voltage, and current.
9. **Charging System**
This system allows for the loading of whole copper plates into the furnace efficiently.
10. **Thermocouple**
Measures the temperature of the molten copper and cooling water to ensure stable and safe operation.
