In the production process, copper cathodes are first loaded into the furnace via a lifting system and baked. The feeding speed is adjusted based on the casting speed to ensure smooth operation. The copper cathodes are then melted in the melting furnace, with the use of argon gas to prevent oxidation. The molten copper flows into the transition section and then into the holding furnace before being poured into the crystallizer. As the copper solidifies, the rods are continuously cast and guided through the casting device, output frame, and separation shelf, where each rod is separated. The tension tower controls the take-up speed, and finally, the rods are coiled by the take-up machine for further processing.
**Equipment Composition:**
1. **Furnace**
The production line uses a power frequency induction furnace, consisting of a furnace body, frame, and inductor. The furnace body is made of steel with internal fireclay bricks and quartz sand for insulation. The inductor includes coils, water jackets, iron cores, and copper rings. It operates at adjustable voltages from 90V to 420V and uses cooling water for efficient heat dissipation.
2. **Copper Melting Channel & Crystallizer**
These components work together to guide the molten copper into the crystallizer, where it solidifies into rods.
3. **Continuous Casting Machine**
This is the core of the production line, including the drawing mechanism, liquid level control, and freezer. The drawing mechanism uses an AC servo motor and multiple rollers to pull the copper rods at variable speeds. The liquid level control ensures stable immersion depth of the freezer, which cools the molten copper into solid rods.
4. **Guide Pulley Frame**
Positioned above the casting machine, this frame helps guide the copper rods to the double-head winding machine without disturbance.
5. **Limiting Device**
Installed between the guide pulley frame and the winding machine, this device controls the winding speed using 24V up/down spacing that responds to the copper rod’s movement.
6. **Double-Station Coiling Machine**
Each unit can wind two copper rods simultaneously, improving efficiency and reducing downtime.
7. **Cooling Water System**
A closed-loop system provides 0.2–0.4 MPa cooling water to the freezer, water jacket, and coil. It includes a 150m³ water pool, pump, piping, and cooling tower, maintaining a consistent temperature of 20–30°C with a flow rate of 50 m³/h.
8. **Electrical Control System**
This system manages the entire operation, controlling the furnace, main machine, winding machine, and cooling system. It includes control panels, switches, meters, and safety features to ensure smooth and safe operation.
9. **Charging System**
Designed to load whole copper plates into the furnace efficiently.
10. **Thermocouples**
Monitor both the temperature of the molten copper and the cooling water to maintain optimal conditions.
