According to Zheng Li, the head of 35 projects, the operating conditions of subsea oil and gas pipelines are more complex than those of land pipelines. The robots that can overcome the detection of submarine pipelines can also be applied to land pipeline inspections. The market is vast.
The director of the 35 industry development department Song Yubin revealed that a complete oil and gas pipeline inspection service industry will be formed during the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan†period. At present, strong magnetic positioning markers and pig tracking and positioning systems have been researched and produced. The detection robots for complex deformation pipelines are under research and development, and the intelligent oil well casing electromagnetic non-destructive detectors are developed in the same period.
