South Korea's Hyundai Mobis successfully developed tire pressure monitoring system

South Korean Auto Parts supplier Hyundai Mobis said yesterday that the company has successfully developed the first Korean tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and plans to supply it to foreign automakers and their subsidiaries.

Mobis said that the new TPMS equipment is fully capable of competing with similar overseas products. This device saves 30% power compared to competing products, has a smaller battery, and is 10% lighter overall, and is easier to install due to the use of rubber valves.

TPMS is mainly used for real-time monitoring of air pressure inside a vehicle when the car is in motion. When the air pressure inside the tire is lower than 75% of the standard level or the temperature rises to a certain limit, it alerts the driver of the car to protect the lives of motorists and occupants. Safety.

It is reported that South Korea requires all cars and other cars below 3.5 tons to install tire pressure monitoring systems before 2013.

An official at Modern Mobis said: "Our latest result is remarkable. Foreign manufacturers have always been dominant in the field of tire pressure monitoring systems."
