The first phase of Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Project was jointly constructed by China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd., China Power Investment Group Co., Ltd. and Liaoning Province. This project is the first nuclear power project approved by China during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period. The successful manufacture of this evaporator means that Shanghai Electric Nuclear Power Equipment Co., Ltd. has completely possessed the independent manufacturing capabilities of the second-generation and multi-million-ton steam generators, and achieved product manufacturing energy levels from 600,000 kilowatts to 1 million kilowatts. The major breakthrough has also accumulated rich experience for the company's follow-up of more than 50 nuclear power steam generators of various technical routes.

In order to implement the national strategy and develop the nuclear power industry, Shanghai Electric is investing an additional 840 million yuan in capacity expansion and technological upgrading in the field of nuclear power. After the completion of the second phase of capacity expansion of the Lingang Nuclear Power Industry, the existing nuclear island equipment integrated manufacturing capacity will be upgraded to an annual output of 4 to 6 sets of steam generators, pressure vessels and regulators, with 8 to 10 sets of reactors.
