NEW YORK CITY (CGI ANNUAL MEETING) — This week, during the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting, Autodesk announced the launch of its new Technology Impact program. The initiative aims to provide essential design software to selected nonprofit organizations that are using design as a tool for positive global change. In its first year, the company has pledged to donate $7.5 million worth of software to support these efforts.
"The Technology Impact program is all about empowering nonprofits with the tools they need to make a real difference," said John Cary, executive director of the Autodesk Foundation. "Our goal is to provide at least 500 organizations with access to our professional design software in the first year. These groups are working on everything from constructing hospitals and schools in developing regions to creating affordable medical devices that save lives."
Autodesk has long been committed to supporting innovators and changemakers around the world. Through this new program, qualifying nonprofits will receive two licenses of Autodesk's top-tier design software suites, including the Product Design Suite Premium, Building Design Suite Premium, Infrastructure Design Suite Premium, and Entertainment Creation Suite Ultimate. Nonprofits can apply for the program online at www.autodesk.com/technologyimpact.
One of the first recipients of the program’s resources is the Boston-based MASS Design Group, known for its award-winning Butaro Hospital in Rwanda. Alan Ricks, co-founder and COO of the organization, shared how the tools have helped them work more effectively with local communities. "With Autodesk's 3D design tools, we're able to better communicate our vision with builders, craftspeople, and residents. It ensures that each structure truly belongs to the place it's built in. We believe no community is without resources — it's about finding the right ones to create meaningful impact."

PU resin, also known as polyurethane resin, is a type of synthetic resin that is widely used in the production of inks. It is a versatile material that offers various benefits for ink formulations.
One of the main advantages of using PU resin in ink is its excellent adhesion properties. It forms a strong bond with different substrates, including paper, cardboard, plastic, and metal, ensuring that the ink adheres well to the surface and resists smudging or rubbing off.
PU resin also provides good gloss and transparency, resulting in vibrant and visually appealing prints. It enhances the color intensity and clarity of the ink, making it suitable for high-quality printing applications.
In addition, PU resin offers excellent resistance to water, chemicals, and abrasion. This makes the ink more durable and long-lasting, ensuring that it remains intact even under harsh conditions.
Furthermore, PU resin can be formulated to have fast drying properties, allowing for faster production speeds in printing processes. It also has good flexibility and elasticity, which helps prevent cracking or flaking of the ink film.
Overall, PU resin is a popular choice for ink formulations due to its excellent adhesion, gloss, transparency, resistance, and drying properties. It is commonly used in various printing applications, including packaging, labels, decals, and graphic arts.
