For example, countries with smaller EV fleets could be required to install more charging points than currently needed, helping to ease range anxiety and support future growth. As EV penetration increases, these targets could gradually decrease, ensuring that the regulation remains relevant and effective over time.
This tailored approach would not only boost electrification in key markets but also create a competitive environment that attracts private investment. A strong, diverse charging network will be essential as EVs become the norm, and the right policies can help drive this transition forward.
