On September 27, the National Bureau of Statistics released statistical data. From January to August, the industrial enterprises above designated size achieved a profit of 3.0597 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 3.1%. The profit for the month of August was 381.2 billion yuan, down 6.2% year-on-year. Of the 41 industrial sectors, profit from 24 industries increased year-on-year, with 16 industries declining year-on-year, and one industry turning profit from the same period into a loss. Among them, oil and natural gas extraction industry profits fell by 3.5%, chemical raw materials and chemical manufacturing fell by 20.2%, and petroleum processing, coking, and nuclear fuel processing industries turned losses from profits over the same period.
